Challenge
The mission of Vice President Al Gore’s Alliance for Climate Protection is to urge people to adopt behaviors that can help solve the climate crisis. The Alliance’s website contains hundreds of tips on everyday actions people can take. How would site users know where to look first? How would the site keep them engaged and become “viral”?
Solution
A dynamic and funny interactive home page was our answer. A collage of animated images displayed the most recent relevant tips and linked to further resources. The collage worked directly off the organization’s existing content management system, allowing Alliance staff to control it on their own.
Impact
The website’s launch was announced by Al Gore and Cameron Diaz at the Live Earth concert in summer of 2007. It was highly successful in helping users gain awareness of climate change and what we as individuals can do to lessen it.
