Challenge
The Culture Project, an off-Broadway, not-for-profit theater, asked us to create a powerful and memorable brand for a festival of political theater, music, dance and film called the Impact Festival. The festival brand had to have its own strong voice while working well with all the Festival’s shows; all this on a limited budget.
Solution
Using the language of emergency warning signage, we created an eye-catching logo and system of visual elements. We then applied the brand to a website and dozens of assorted posters, ads, invitations, T-shirts and schedules. We also created a police-like crime scene adhesive tape emblazoned with the Festival’s logo to instantly brand all the festival’s participating locations.
Impact
The Festival’s numerous venues and diverse shows and events were all unified under a dominant brand umbrella. The brand was so effective that the Culture Project decided to paint their building black and yellow, the colors of the brand.
