Find out How Martin Stands on how Presidential graphics should be used.
5pm Monday, June 14th: Empax gets off the phone with the NRDC (Natural Resources Defense Council). They're looking for a campaign site to tweet the statements of oil company execs testifying before the Senate. They need it quickly.
Like 9am. Tuesday. June 15th quickly. 16 hours. Overnight. Coffee anyone?
Two Nassau County nonprofits, Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Coalition Against Child Abuse and Neglect, have an announcement to make: They've moved in together. This relationship has been developing for some time, but it was made official on June 2, when they jointly launched the campaign for The Safe Place.
Bill, Baby, Bill! is our answer to a certain Alaskan who thinks we can simply drill our way out of our energy and climate problems. "Drill, Baby, Drill!" is a 20th century mindset - the belief that single-cast (silver-bullet) answers will actually move the needle. We don't except this idea. Together with Ari Wallach, who is always churning out brilliant ideas that fuse strategy, social networks and interactive technology, Empax created Bill, Baby, Bill! in a mere few days. This project is a nod to the people (and the Twitosphere), giving the American public an easy and effective way to engage in the democratic process.
That guy Martin Kace - he's supposed to write a blog post every Wednesday. He's very busy though; meeting clients, writing a book, online Scrabble and lunch take a lot of time. It's frustrating trying to get him to submit his pithy content on time. Or any time. So we're trying something new. We're taking notes when he holds forth on one subject or another, and setting the material to slides and music. That way all he has to do is talk while we do all the work. It's good to be the boss. So take a look at our newest feature, How Martin Stands. This first go is about one of his all-time favorites: The Beyond Petroleum Corporation. We'd love to know what you think of it all.
The community in Hunts Point - the poorest zip code east of the Mississippi River - knows about being dealt a tough hand. The impoverished individuals of Hunts Point needed a leader to help them see that a brighter tomorrow is within their grasp. The Hunts Point Alliance for Children (HPAC) had been steadily gaining ground within the community for years, but now wanted to show that their dedication to bettering Hunts Point was deep, serious and "ready for prime time". How could they communicate with kids, adults, donors and other local nonprofits all at once while maintaining razor-sharp focus?
If ever there was a daunting branding challenge, the State of Israel has to be it. I was invited to speak about Brand Israel at the annual Herzliya Conference on National Security earlier this month. More specifically, I was asked to address Israel's grave strategic communications problems in the diplomatic and public diplomacy areas. Taken together, I was asked to address the subject of Brand Israel.
Her name is Sharon Shapiro, and she is the driving force behind a deeply inspiring and brilliant organization called Yad HaChazakah- The Jewish Disability Empowerment Center, Inc. Her personal story is immensely powerful, and she speaks with pride about her journey as a young girl with Cerebral Palsy becoming a woman who found her roots and framework for truth.
